The server should tell you which drive is dead -- all the
hot-swap stuff I've ever been involved with actually has
an LED on the caddy which glows orange when the drive
is dead. This is useful to know, because pulling one of
the remaining good drives from an array which has already
suffered a failure destroys the array.
