Kiedyś na pl.rec.gry.rpg był wątek "Trwalosc nosnikow
informacji w kontekscie swiatow post holocaust" ;)
Wtedy ostatecznie za najtrwalsze uznali ROMy i papier.

Poniżej fragment:
"The longevity of CD-R media is mostly a factor of the light- sensitive dye
polymer layer, which can be adversely affected by exposure to UV light. With
proper handling--which means storing the disc away from sources of UV
light--CD-R discs can last an "estimated" 80 years. One manufacturer claims
its discs will last 300 years. The gold reflective layer is less susceptible
to corrosion than the aluminum layer in mass-produced discs. In contrast,
the longevity of mass-produced CDs is largely a factor of the aluminum
reflective layer, which can be corroded over time from exposure to air or
from reactions with impurities in the polycarbonate or in the aluminum
itself. Discs manufactured from high-grade polycarbonate and aluminum are
less susceptible to "disc rot" and can be expected to remain usable for
approximately 100 years. The lifetime of both types of discs can be extended
by protecting them from scratches, dust, and fingerprints on the data
surface.
The relative youth of the technology and the absence of independent studies
on media quality and lifetime make it difficult to make predictions on the
lifetime of CD-R media. First, of course, all the manufacturers would have
to agree on a standard testing method and a sufficiently disinterested third
party to perform the testing. The truth is that nobody really knows how long
the discs will last, but it's certain that they will outlive the systems
that read them."
