Czekamy na ewentualne uwagi, jesli oczywiscie miales juz okazje
testowac ta karte. Na comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.video nazekano, ze nie
ma niektorych efektow 3D (nie znam sie na tej terminologii). Ogolnie
na w/w liscie zauwazylem duzo pozytywnych opinii nt. Diamond Stealth
3D 2000. Zamieszczono tam nawet wyniki nastepujacego testu:
--- I recently bought a local game magazine which had a 3d card test. As an extra They also tested a ET6000. These are the benchmarks. S3D MYS 3DX VIC GS6 MED XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Quake 320x200 (fps) 35,5 34,9 32,6 34,8 37,0 36,9 Quake 640x480 (fps) 14,2 14,0 --- 14,6 16,5 14,4 Winmark 96 27,0 29,5 --- 27,8 29,2 19,2 Winstone 96 62,1 64,9 66,5 62,9 68,9 61,9 Rockem (Direct 3D; in fps) 11 13 12,5 11,5 12,5 11 Screamer VGA/SVGA 60/60 73/62 11/40 60/64 73/64 58/64 S3D = Stealth 3d / MYS = Matrox Mystique / 3DX = ATI 3d Xpression VIC = ELSA Victory / GS6 = Video Logic Grafix Star 600 / MED = Miro Media 3D * S3D, VIC, MED with Virge * 3DX with Rage * GS6 with ET6000 The GS6 reaults are quite interesting. As expected it does quite well under Dos and Windows. It's 3D performance is well in the range of the 3D cards, though it only emulates Direct 3D. At a price of $225 it has a better price/performance ratio than most 3D cards. OK, I know that a game magazine is not the best source for hardware tests, and the Rockem Test is only a simple 3D test and may not really push the Virge or Rage chipset to their limits. What do you thing? Can anyone confirm these results? If worst comes to worst a ET6000 user can still get a Voodoo board as an add-on, which is supposed to have better 3d performance than the Rage or Virge chipsets. [a to bylo w jednym z follow-up'ow] I couldn't say. Was the ET6000 benchmark run in the same color depth and resolution as the Virge. I have seen earlier comparisons where the software based version i.e. 2D chipset was run in 8-bit color and the hardware version in 16-bit depth. If they are indeed run in the same resolution/color depth then I guess the Virge isn't much of an accellerator at all. The ET6000 seems to be one heck of a 2D accellerator. Maybe I should get one? --- Wydawalo mi sie to interesujace wiec zamiescilem na liscie. (-: KrUtko i zwiENzle - mailto:StryjO_at_ComArch.Krakow.PL :-)
